So, technically Hadleigh is 16 months in a few days but I am just going to pretend she will stay 15 months forever.
You guys…I can’t believe I am giving you a 15 month update right now! I know it’s probably so annoying to constantly be reading and hearing this from other moms but holy smokes…time is FLYING.
As many of you know, Hadleigh is my first baby. Which means I am in constant panic and wonder if she is developing on track, what her schedule should be like, etc. I find these types of posts helpful, because it helps me realize there isn’t one type of way a child develops and grows.
This post will include all of the fun stuff like her sassy personality and favorite foods. But it will also include the helpful stuff like her development, milestones and routine. So, I hope you enjoy this 15 month update of Miss Hadleigh Jean and find it useful😊

Growth
We just had her 15 month check-up last week. I predicted she was going to weigh 28 pounds, Brendan predicted 25 pounds…she is only 21 pounds!!
Her growth curve is pretty much the same as it has been. Her weight is in the 40th percentile, she is 30.5 inches long so her length is in the 30th percentile, and her head circumference is in the 80th.
My tiny, big headed little babe 😂
Meals
Oh the wonders of a toddler’s appetite. Everyday is kind of a guessing game with what she will like and hate. I am always trying new foods to give her, but her current favorites are:
- Birds Eye veggie pasta – it is in the frozen section at your local grocery store. It is pasta that is made out of zucchini and lentils and it comes in a variety of different flavors. This has been our go-to dinner lately.
- bananas
- raisins + grapes
- blueberries
- zesty ranch veggie sticks
- avocados
- hard boiled eggs
- turkey pepperoni
- sweet potatoes
- chicken rice
- macaroni salad
- yogurt
She isn’t the biggest fan of meat still (we think it’s a texture thing), so we are currently trying to make sure she gets enough protein. We are also giving her vitamins daily.
She drinks about 8oz of almond milk per day. We are currently still weaning off the bottle. The girl loves her bottle. She drinks water out of a normal sippy-cup with a straw.
She is getting better at using utensils, but still loves to dump her food out of her bowl and onto the floor…
Routine
Our routine hasn’t changed too much since I did my last routine post when she was 10 months. The main difference now is that I have started taking her to an hourly daycare center on Monday’s and Wednesdays so she can get more socialization. And I can get a break!
Our routine is as follows:
- 6:30am: wakes up, eats breakfast with dad
- 7:00am: reads books with me
- 7:30am: independent play
- 9:00am: morning nap
- 9:30am: drinks milk while watching educational TV program
- 10:00am: snack
- 10:30am: daycare or errands with me, eats lunch at noon
- 1:00pm: pick up from daycare, afternoon nap
- 3:00pm: milk + snack
- 3:30pm: play outside
- 5:00pm: go for walk around neighborhood in stroller
- 5:30pm: dinner
- 6:00pm: bath
- 6:30pm: book + bed with dad
Sleep
We are so blessed with a great nighttime sleeper. She goes to bed at 6:30, normally without a fuss, and wakes up at 6:00am. So, roughly 11-12 hours of sleep per night.
Her naps are a little more unpredictable. We were planning on weaning her from her morning nap, but she is such a hot mess without it! Even though it only lasts about 30 minutes, it makes a huge difference in her behavior.
Her afternoon naps are longer, usually 1-2 hours.
Speech + development/accomplishments
I was worried because Hadleigh doesn’t say too many words right now. But, the doctor reassured me she is on track. She can say about 5-10 words.
There is a really good speech development chart I found which you can access here.
She is very good at understanding what we say. She also recognizes almost every animal, body part and can point to several objects when prompted.
Hadleigh is currently obsessed with sitting in chairs and climbing on top of EVERYTHING. She is also learning to love chores like putting cat food in their bowls and wiping the floor with a paper towel 😂
Personality
Hadleigh is quite the little spitfire. She is extremely impatient (wonder who she gets that from…), is stubborn and knows exactly what she wants, when she wants it. She 100 percent fits the Taurus profile.
With that said, she is also the sweetest little baby. She not only gives kisses to us, but to kids she just meets, her teddy bears and her books. She is very sensitive and does not like getting in trouble or scorned at.
The kid is also hilarious. She makes the funniest babble sounds, laughs at her own sneezes and cracks up when her “ki-cats” play together. We are loving getting to know her as she grows into a little girl.
Play + toys
Her current favorite past times include reading books (literally obsessed), doing puzzles, pushing her grocery cart and buggy around, writing with chalk on the deck, playing with sand/rocks and throwing her ball.
I linked all of our current toddler favorites below!

yes she is a pretty good eater for the most part! and I did try baby led weaning. we did a variation of it. we gave her some baby food but also gave her solids at the same time. I wrote a weaning post here that talks about it! https://awholenewworld.blog/2019/05/15/weaning-from-breastfeeding-schedule-tips/
